As a young man, Israel traveled to Djibouti and then Kenya, where he spent several years in exile. Following his childhood passion, he entered the Abyssinian Art Institute and graduated in 1998 with a degree in art. Artist Israel Wolde-Michael is still working on a semi-abstract painting project, but he is still struggling with a sudden disability. The artist's work, which focuses on semi-abstracts, also reflects the challenges of social life.
